Isabella Macfarlane has joined compliance experts, Insurance Compliance Services (ICS) as Head of London Markets, effective immediately.
She joins from the Financial Conduct Authority where she was Lead Associate, Insurance Flexible Firm Supervision Department.
Isabella will be supporting ICS’s larger broker and MGA clients as they work towards becoming Enhanced Scope firms under the SMCR regime, consulting with them on governance, oversight and monitoring activity.
At the FCA she played a leading role in the Wholesale Insurance, Market Interventions Supervision Team. She was instrumental in developing and delivering the FCA’s culture and non-financial misconduct survey, as well as its subsequent market-wide publication - an initiative that has significantly shaped industry dialogue.
Isabella has also been at the forefront of the regulator’s work on the use of non-admitted insurers by UK intermediaries, providing critical insights and strategic direction.
Prior to joining the regulator in 2019 she was senior underwriter and team leader of the Art & Private Clients team at Ecclesiastical. In her early career she was an underwriter at Lloyd’s syndicate, XL Catlin (formerly Catlin Group).
