The Competition and Markets Authority has announced a major package of action covering online pricing practices, including drip pricing and pressure selling, under the new Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCCA). Although the CMA’s current interventions as part of this package of actions do not include any financial services focus, the breadth of guidance will at worst support firms’ thinking in relation to FCA fair treatment and fair value requirements, and at best provide wider insight for firms in ensuring that good outcomes are achieved for customers.
